The fan filter unit, also known as the FFU, is a self-powered filter purification device, which is mainly a terminal clean equipment composed of a fan and a high-efficiency filter.


Main Work Process

The air (fresh air) is processed into the required state by the air conditioning processor, then sent to the static pressure box and mixed with the return air, and then pressurized by the FFU fan, and then passed through the high efficiency filter (HEPA) or ultra high efficiency air filter (ULPA) ) Filtered and sent into the clean room; the original old wind is transported back to the dry coil through the raised floor or side wall, and after being cold (heated) in the dry coil, it is sent back to the static pressure by the return press This completes the entire clean room air filtration cycle.


Such systems are most commonly used in places with ultra-quiet requirements for clean rooms, such as the production of large integrated circuit wafers, TFT displays, solid state drives and other electronic clean rooms.


FFU Features

1.Modular equipment, position can be adjusted according to needs

Because the wall panels of the clean room are arranged according to the module of the ceiling grid, and because of its special node structure, the wall panels of the clean room can be adjusted at any time to change the layout of the room to meet the production requirements of the workshop. Therefore, when the room layout is adjusted, the cleanliness requirements of a certain site can also be met by adjusting the location of the FFU. FFU is a modular purification equipment with its own power. It is not restricted by too many places. It can adjust its position or increase or decrease its number at any time to ensure the cleanliness requirements of a certain place. This is not achieved by the previous centralized air supply system.


2. The wind is uniform and stable

Special air circulation channels are selected and the design is equipped with a current sharing system, so that the wind speed is uniform and stable. Compared with the previous centralized air supply system, this avoids the problem of unbalanced air volume at each air supply port.


3. Computer control, significant energy saving effect

The number of air ducts in the FFU system is very small. Except for the fresh air that needs to be transported by air ducts, a large amount of return air is operated in a small cycle, so the resistance of the air ducts is greatly reduced, thereby reducing consumption. In addition, since the surface wind speed of the FFU is generally 0.45±20% uniform output, the resistance of the air through the filter is reduced.


The fan power of the FFU fan filter unit is very small. Most of them use high-efficiency AC motors. At the same time, the shape of the fan impeller is also improved, and the material is mostly made of aluminum alloy to prevent dust from regenerating, which greatly improves its overall efficiency. Compared with the traditional centralized air supply method, the use of FFU air filter can effectively save more than 40% of energy. Therefore, although the FFU system cost is relatively high in the initial stage, it can be saved well in the later maintenance and energy consumption.


4. Shorten the construction period

Because the air supply system of the FFU fan filter unit does not require a huge return air duct like centralized air supply, it is very suitable for some clean room reconstruction projects with tight floor height, and the main reason is that it does not need The air duct is made, so the construction and installation period is greatly shortened. For enterprises, it is possible to shorten the construction period and quickly start the construction to bring benefits.


5. Negative pressure ventilation

Since the FFU fan filter unit itself can provide static pressure, the air supply static pressure box is negative pressure compared to the clean room, and the particles in the air supply static pressure box are no longer under pressure and leak into the clean area. .


Therefore, even if the tuyere is installed incorrectly and there is a leakage problem, it is leaked from the clean room to the air supply static pressure box, so that the sealing becomes simpler and safer.


6. Less operating costs

Although the initial capital injection is higher than for air duct ventilation when selecting equipment, it has outstanding features such as energy saving and maintenance-free in the later operation.


7. Ventilation

This is its unique feature. Because it can provide static pressure, the air supply static pressure box has negative pressure relative to the cleaning plant. In this way, the particles in the static pressure box will not leak into the cleaning area under pressure, making the sealing simple and safe.


8. Flexibility

The fan filter equipment is self-powered, it is not restricted by the area. In a huge cleaning workshop, it can be controlled by zones according to needs. Its flexibility makes such adjustments easy.


9. Install air duct diversion system to reduce noise and pressure loss, increase the service life of the fan and improve the efficiency of the fan.


10. Theoretically speaking, the equipment that is not used for a while can be removed, sealed, kept properly, and can be recycled.


11. It is suitable for clean rooms with cleanliness of 1-1000, especially for assembling ultra-clean production lines. It can be configured for single or multiple use according to the needs of the process, or multiple units can be connected in series to form a 100-level assembly line.
