On the afternoon of March 18, at the opening ceremony and plenary session of the “2026 China Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Conference and the 16th Annual Meeting of the China Association of Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering,” Wiskind was successfully selected as one of the first cases in the “Demonstration Application Scenarios of Service-Oriented Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry” organized by the association, thanks to its outstanding practices in service-oriented manufacturing. Other companies selected in the same batch included Kelun, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Group, China Resources Double-Crane, and seven other enterprises.

What is Service-Oriented Manufacturing?

The “14th Five-Year Plan” clearly proposes building a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone, with a focus on developing intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing, and service-oriented manufacturing. This year’s Government Work Report further positions the biopharmaceutical sector as an emerging pillar industry, injecting strong momentum into the pharmaceutical industry. Against this backdrop, the development of service-oriented manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical field has become a key focus and a hot topic within the industry.

Led by the association, rigorously selected

The China Association of Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering has thoroughly implemented the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the Innovative Development of Service-Oriented Manufacturing (2025–2028)”, jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and six other departments. Leveraging its long-term experience in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, equipment management, and supply chain development, the association has actively promoted the development of service-oriented manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry.

Through conceptual guidance, model innovation, and deep integration across the industry chain, the association assists enterprises in enhancing product added value and strengthening core competitiveness, helping the industry move beyond internal competition and toward higher-quality development.

As one of the association’s key initiatives following its formal establishment as a council member of the Service-Oriented Manufacturing Branch this year, an expert team was organized in January to Ningbo to compile and conduct research for the “14th Five-Year Plan Special Project on Service-Oriented Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry.” On January 19, the association launched the first call for cases for “Demonstration Application Scenarios of Service-Oriented Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry.” After rigorous review and targeted guidance from experts across the Service-Oriented Manufacturing Research Institute, universities, pharmaceutical companies, and design institutes, seven demonstration application scenarios with distinct service-oriented manufacturing characteristics were ultimately selected, with Wiskind honored as one of the chosen cases.

Highlights of  Wiskind's Selected Project

The 37,000 m² pharmaceutical-grade cleanroom enclosure system that Wiskind developed for the Shanghai Pharmaceuticals–CanSino vaccine production facility fully demonstrates the core characteristic of service-oriented manufacturing: the deep integration of“manufacturing + services.”

Facing the triple challenges of an ultra-large area, the highest GMP standards, and an exceptionally short 45-day delivery timeline, Wiskind leveraged its self-developed CleanCube® intelligent design software to provide a fully integrated, end-to-end service covering design, production, construction, and operation & maintenance. Digitalized design addressed the coordination challenges between standard and non-standard panels, design-to-manufacturing integration enabled automated, complete delivery, innovative emergency remediation technologies reduced material waste, and a full lifecycle operation and maintenance system was established.

The project not only set a new record for delivery speed among similar industry projects but also marked  Wiskind's transformation from a “product supplier” to a “full-chain solution service provider.” It has become a benchmark example of service-oriented manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry, fully aligning with the core criteria for the association's selection of demonstration application scenarios.

Working Together to Promote Industry Development

The first batch of selected cases will be compiled and promoted by the association, with related follow-up work continuing to advance. Wiskind will take this recognition as an opportunity to further deepen its engagement in service-oriented manufacturing and empower the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry.
